Cinco de Mayo is often referred to as Mexican Independence Day but don’t be fooled. Mexico's Independence Day is actually in September! Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican army's victory over France at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.
At Stadium Place we took part in the festivities by throwing a Cinco de Mayo fiesta!! Residents were greeted by streamers, sombreros, maracas and a piñata overflowing with candy.
The Stadium Place team was busy pulling cheesy nachos and warm churros from the oven while quickly mixing margaritas for thirsty residents! With nachos, churros and margarita in hand residents made their way down the endless nacho bar, covering their cheese and chips with every topping imaginable!
It was a gorgeous day in Seattle and residents ended the evening relaxing on the patio. A fitting celebration!
